It was yet another medal-less world championships for Indian athletes in Beijing, which concluded on Sunday with Kenya topping the medal tally ahead of powerhouses Jamaica and USA.
And the sad part was that it was one of the best results Indian athletes have produced in a long time at the highest level of the 'track and fields competitions. Compare them with the last three world championships: 2013 in Moscow - 15 athletes, seven events, one national record; 2011 in Daegu (South Korea) - eight athletes, eight events, two finalists; and 2009 in Berlin - six athletes, five events, one nation record, one season best. ..."
